| SHOOT 'EM UP - NEW LINE HOME ENTERTAINMENT
"Shoot 'Em Up arrives on Blu-ray with a quality package of in-depth supplements...There is an
awful lot of material here, and fans of the technical side of making movies are going to find plenty
of interesting tidbits...I give Shoot 'Em Up on Blu-ray my highest
recommendation!"
- Martin Liebman - BLU RAY.COM
"Ballet of Bullets-Making Shoot 'Em Up...this
behind-the-scenes documentary is a great addition to the supplemental
package. It covers early work on the script, the construction of the
sets, the use of countless weapons, Davis's unique application of
on-set animatics, and more. There are even entire sections devoted to
the CGI, green screen shots, and the stuntwork used to bring the
frenetic action to life. This one is a must-watch for even the most
casual fans of the film."

SUPERMAN RETURNS - WARNER HOME VIDEO
"DVD producer Robert Meyer Burnett's 3-hour Requiem
for Krypton: Making Superman Returns...it's a highly entertaining and enjoyable look
behind-the-scenes. Burnett followed the production right from the
beginning and Singer seems to have given him virtually unlimited
access. That's absolutely crucial to this documentary's quality,
because you SEE key moments of the process. For example, the piece
starts in 2004 with Singer talking to the camera, introducing the
idea that he and his writers just had for bringing Superman back to
the big screen, BEFORE they even pitched the idea to the studio. You
see things coming together and the production design shaping up. You
see Brandon Routh's final screen test for the title role, before
which Burnett asks him questions (with Singer's complicity) as if
he's already got the part... except that he doesn't KNOW yet that
he's already got it! It's awfully fun to
see - a big moment in the history of the franchise. You're there as
the first scenes are shot on the farm in Australia. You there for
every step of the production, with each actor as they step into
their parts. Most importantly, Singer and his team (both cast and
crew) clearly TRUST Burnett, so they open up to him in a way I
haven't seen in very many "making of" documentaries
before. Requiem for Krypton is
reminiscent of the excellent The
Beginning documentary from the Star
Wars: Episode I DVD, but I have to say I enjoyed this one
even more. It has greater scope and depth, and is more personal...
more satisfying somehow. The documentary itself easily merits an
A..."

X2 - FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT
NOMINATED FOR BEST SPECIAL EDITION OF THE YEAR
DVD EXCLUSIVE AWARDS
"There's enough to sink
your teeth into here that most fans will be quite happy with this
special edition...Particularly welcome here are the
insights of the original creators of these characters - the folks who
molded them on the colorful page of the comic. Too often these
contributors get overlooked and I was very pleased to hear from them at
some length on Disc Two."
Bill Hunt / THE DIGITAL BITS
"A perfect companion piece to last winter's X-Men 1.5 release, both of
these two-disc special editions were produced by Ludovico Technique and
feel like two sides of the same coin. There is a consistency to the
menu design, aesthetic approach and presentation style that is most
welcome - plop these two together on your shelf and they'll look like
mutant DVD versions of Mary-Kate and Ashley...The Second Uncanny Issue of X-Men: Making X2
is an all-encompassing 64-minute documentary...This is a very fine
two-disc set that delivers the goods on all counts. This will be an
instant bestseller and likely one of the biggest of the season. So
don't let me stop you...the mutants are waiting."

X-MEN 1.5 - FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT
"...almost two hours of newly-produced documentaries and featurettes
have been included, courtesy of Fox Home Entertainment and DVD producer
Robert Meyer Burnett (of The Usual Suspects fame)...this disc's piece
de resistance, the 64-minute documentary Production Scrapbook. The name
makes it sound rather typical, but it is anything but...what we get is
a video snapshot of a little bit of the madness that goes behind any
movie that costs tens of millions of dollars. Anyone who thinks
moviemaking isn't all glamorous (and utter boredom 90 percent of the
time) should watch this. The "magic" of film is all about managing the
endless minutia: From perfecting Xavier's chair to getting just the
right look for Magneto's helmet (and hats off to Mr. Singer for
inventing the word "Eggular"), it's these little moments that ring most
true. Other standout moments include four X-MEN failing to jumping over
a little 2-foot wall because their costumes are so tight, and a
post-Golden Globe win tribute to Halle Berry..."
Dan Ramer And Peter M. Bracke / DVDFILE.COM
"There's a ton of material, and I won't cover it all here...you get
more on-set video, more glimpses of extended dialogue and moments that
didn't make the film, tons of interview clips and quotes from all the
major cast and production staff members (including X-Men creator Stan
Lee), in-depth discussion of the concepts behind the film... you name
it. You even get a funny little video of the Prime Minister of Canada
(apparently he visited the set briefly).... all in all, this is a nice
special edition. Really, a very nice special edition."

| VALLEY GIRL - MGM HOME ENTERTAINMENT
"What a totally bitchin' surprise. I expected a nice commentary and
maybe a cute featurette out of this one, but MGM and the DVD production
team of Rob Meyer Burnett, Greg Carson and Dave Parker certainly
exceeded my expectations. I know I'm supposed to be all thrilled about
Indiana Jones and such, but is there something wrong with me because I
still get far more excited when catalog titles like this get the deluxe
treatment?
First up are not one but three new full-screen featurettes. Those
crafty DVD producers have enticed just about everyone back for Valley
Girl: 20 Totally Tubular Years Later - Coolidge, Cage, screenwriters
and producers Wayne Crawford and Andrew Lane, screen goddess EG Daily,
Fredric Forest and Colleen Camp, Heidi Holicker, Michael Bowen, Cameron
Dye and the "original MILF" Lee Purcell...this was 22 minutes of total
bliss for a pathetic Valley Child like myself. We get the basic story
of the film, the challenges provided by its ultra low budget and the
executive producers' insistence on "at least three pairs of breasts."
Tripendicular!"

"All in all, the new special edition of The Usual Suspects is a
gigantic leap above the two older DVD editions...the bevy of special
features will make even the most hardcore fan of the film giggle with
glee."
Greg Suarez / THE DIGITAL BITS
"The docs feature brand-new, surprisingly blunt and profane
talking-head interviews with Singer, Ottman, Spacey, Byrne, Baldwin,
